About COHORT CONNECT

On behalf of the Phenome India Longitudinal Cohort Study (Phenome India - CSIR Health Cohort Knowledgebase), a National Conclave is being organized to bring together leaders and stakeholders from major longitudinal cohort studies across the country. The primary objective of this conclave is to create meaningful cooperation among longterm population studies and to facilitate the exchange of insights, strategies, and best practices. Phenome India is a flagship initiative of CSIR, aimed at developing India-specific risk prediction models for cardiometabolic diseases. With its broad geographic and demographic reach, this study has the potential to generate transformative insights into chronic diseases, precision medicine, and public health interventions. India is home to several major cohort studies and regional population-based cohorts, each generating valuable longitudinal data. However, to truly harness their collective strength, there is a growing need for coordination, data harmonization, and shared infrastructure. The conclave will serve as a platform to initiate this collaboration, identify areas of complementarity, and define a vision for integrated cohort science in India.
